Wake Up

Just as I ran under a giant flag pole in front of a hospital today, in 90+ degree weather, feeling exhausted, depressed, and overwhelmed after a full day of classes and meetings, the wind shook the pole so violently that it rocked in its base and made a loud clanging sound, like a church bell being struck without any sense of rhythm. It had an urgency to it, as if it were trying to tell me something, before it was too late, but I have no idea what it was trying to say. Except maybe: you are still here.
