Free Ourselves From Ourselves

Inspiration for the taper weeks: I found this post in my ancient blog, written in the summer of 2004. (That dates me back to before I joined cross country, when I was a ten-minute mile jogger on constant fad diets and three miles was a really big deal.) Switch Central Park for Grant Park, and it looks like I scheduled the best day of my life to occur on October 9, 2011. For a seventeen year old atheist, my understanding of running as a spiritual experience bears a striking resemblance to the perspective of my modern day religious self. That is: freedom is every step.
